Born in Xi'an, Shaanxi. Started in philosophy, then pivoted to engineering. Now finishing a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering at Miami University, working across tissue optics, behavioral neuroscience, and embedded biosignal processing systems.
Decades of living with psychiatric illness led me toward a single question: how do we physically intervene in mental suffering? Next step is graduate work in psychiatric brain-computer interfaces at Mount Sinai, pursuing multimodal physical therapies for psychiatric conditions.
Outside the lab, I make things. Drawing, painting, calligraphy, photography, writing. I watch too many films and listen to too much music. I play video games late at night.

Theoretical framework on state transitions between panic and dissociative states via dynamical systems theory.
Manuscript in Preparation ↓Interactive 3D brain visualization mapping EEG frequency bands and emotional states onto independent anatomical region volumes. Each state drives cfos-style fluorescent puncta, live waveform rendering, and procedurally generated stream-of-consciousness text. Built with Three.js + React.

In PreparationBuilt an end-to-end behavioral neuroscience analysis pipeline integrating DeepLabCut pose estimation and SimBA-based behavior classification. The workflow converts raw top-view mouse videos into tracked body-part coordinates, annotated behavioral states, and quantitative outputs for downstream analysis.

Senior capstone colorimetric glucose biosensor for pediatric users. I independently managed the electrical and firmware subsystem: MCP6002 transimpedance amplifier, BPW34 photodiode integration, ESP32 signal acquisition, OLED display, ambient-light correction, and kinetic calibration firmware.
Investigated adsorption kinetics using activated biomass for low-cost water treatment. Conducted pyrolysis, BET surface-area analysis, TGA, colorimetry, and pH optimization. Team achieved >90% manganese removal efficiency.
Lab Contribution ↗Characterized nonlinear hyperelastic and viscoelastic behavior of silicone rubber and porcine skeletal muscle under uniaxial tension and compression. Fitted four-term Ogden model (R² = 0.997).
Course Project ↓Derived PK1 stress predictions under uniaxial tension and simple shear for incompressible Mooney–Rivlin materials. Demonstrated nonlinear strain-stiffening in tension and linear shear response.
